2000sd292  AC#4311:RSBG  (+5\R1\5).  This is a recent introduction of a little-known and somewhat questionable species (I am after all, a “lumper”) with close affinities to the widespread and variable R. irroratum.  Vegetatively, these seedlings are similar to that species and they should have similar showy flowers, differing from R. irroratum only in the glabrous style.  These are grown from seed collected wild at 6,500 ft. in W Guizhou, China.  These should be quite heat tolerant and suitable for cultivation in areas with long hot summers.
