Clethra monostachya var. minutistellata  SEH#112  A rare deciduous shrub in cultivation. This large bushy species has silky foliage and smooth peeling bark with large terminal clusters of fragrant white flowers in late summer. Sun and shade tolerant. Grown from my collection of seed at 9,850 ft. in S Sichuan. Perfect with rhodies and can be cut-back if it becomes too large.  (0)  RSBG#450sd1996
